I do not use this configuration with the AE but have used it successfully with. The AE units have an ethernet port, and a USB port, I want to then, take ethernet OUT of the AE units, and plug it into a ethernet hub and then into blu ray players, Slingboxes, etc. Click on wireless options and check the box beside create a closed network. I want to get 2-3 Airport Express units, and plug one into my bedroom and one into my guestroom/movie room.įrom what I gather, I can set the AE(Airport Express) units to "extend existing network" and it will take and extend the wireless network i have. Yes it is, you have to configure your second airport express with the option to Extend Wireless Network. I have an Apple Time Capsule im using for my wireless router. What I wanna do and what hardware i wanna use: When you click on AirPort Express, the setup 'wizard' will open up automatically and take a few seconds to analyze the network. The original AirPort wireless basestation was introduced by Steve Jobs at MacWorld New York in July of 1999. Click the WiFi icon at the top of the Macs screen and look for a listing of New AirPort Base Station. ![]() ![]() I post that because i did try to research myself, and i think from others questions i have my answer, but i've been wrong before, and being poor i cant afford to be wrong and waste precious gift cards/cash, etc. Power up the AirPort Express for a minute or two.
